HULL EXTENDS SOLHEIM CUP POINTS LEAD AFTER 2026 CHEVRON CHAMPIONSHIP

The first major championship of the 2026 season is complete with three European stars finishing in the top 20 at the Chevron Championship.

American Nelly Korda was victorious on home soil claiming her third major title at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas.

With the 2026 Solheim Cup on the horizon, eyes are beginning to turn to team selection for the 20th edition of the biennial tournament which will be hosted at Bernardus Golf.

Team Europe will comprise of the top two players from the LET Solheim Cup points list, the next six spots will be filled by the top six eligible players through the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, and four captain’s picks.

After the 2026 AIG Women’s Open, the European Team will be decided with the eight automatic qualifiers confirmed and captain Anna Nordqvist will announce her picks in due course.

Following the first major of the year, England’s Charley Hull extended her lead at the top of the points list with her T10 finish in Houston.

Hull now has 164.18 points to her name ahead of Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, who sits in the second spot with 133.10 points.

France’s Agathe Laisne – who has won twice on the LET in 2026 – is third with England’s Cara Gainer fourth and Germany’s Helen Briem fifth.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda has moved up to sixth place after her T12 finish at the Chevron Championship and England’s Lottie Woad also jumped to eighth after she ended the week in Texas in a share of seventh place.
