A host of leading Ladies European Tour stars are confirmed for the 2026 women’s Australian Open, which heads to Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide from March 12-15.
Five of the top eight from last year’s Ladies European Tour Order of Merit will tee it up in South Australia, joining the nation’s leading talents in the first staging of the national open at Kooyonga since 2018.
Shannon Tan, last year’s Order of Merit winner, will compete alongside South African Casandra Alexander (4th), the English pair of Cara Gainer (6th) and Alice Hewson (8th) and Czechia’s Sara Kouskova (7th).
The quintet join Australian Major Champions Minjee Lee, Hannah Green and Grace Kim in the field, as well as LPGA Tour stars Steph Kyriacou, Cassie Porter, Karis Davidson and Sarah Kemp.
Last year, Tan became the first player from Singapore to top the LET’s season-long rankings. When she was 14, her family relocated to the Gold Coast to support her dreams of becoming a professional golfer and she finished runner-up to Kazuma Kobori in her pro debut at Webex Players Series Murray River in 2024.
Karen Lunn, CEO of the WPGA Tour of Australasia, said: “Our partnership with the Ladies European Tour has gone from strength to strength and we’re excited to see that a truly global field is set to compete in the Australian Open later this month.
Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland added: “The return of the women’s Australian Open to Adelaide has been further bolstered by this announcement, and we’re excited to see a host of international stars tee it up at Kooyonga in a couple of weeks’ time.
“Kooyonga will once again provide a fantastic setting for our national open and we are looking forward to experiencing Adelaide’s hospitality once again.”
