RHODES STARTING YEAR WITH CONFIDENCE AFTER TOP-10 IN SAUDI

Mimi Rhodes

Mimi Rhodes started her 2026 Ladies European Tour (LET) in strong fashion with a T6 finish at the PIF Saudi Ladies International.

The 2025 LET Rookie of the Year secured her LPGA Tour card in December of last year and then took time off over the winter to go on a family holiday in Australia.

Entering the 2026 season, Rhodes hadn’t done as much preparation as usual but she still put in a solid performance.

Rounds of 64 (-8) and 69 (-3) over the first two days saw her leading at the halfway stage of the tournament at Riyadh Golf Club.

Rhodes ended the week with a 72 (E) and 67 (-5) to finish in share of sixth place on 16-under-par.

“Overall, I’m obviously really happy with my last day,” she said. “I was struggling with my tee shots and finding the rough out there. My putter definitely saved me out there this week, so I’m happy with that.

“I’m going to go back home and work on my tee shots because I think I could have probably been up there if I made a few less mistakes yesterday. Overall, I’m really happy.

“When you’re putting on really nice greens, you’re going to trust your read more and you’re going to putt on line. I was feeling really confident out there with my lines.

“George, my caddie, was helping me with some. It was nice to have some extra confidence and chipping from the rough as well onto the greens, it was more consistent so you could get a gauge of how the greens were reacting. I’m really happy with the greens.”

With playing rights on both the LET and LPGA in 2026, Rhodes will be balancing her schedule accordingly.

The three-time LET winner received a sponsor tournament invite to the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore at the end of the month.

Before flying out to her first LPGA start in 2026, Rhodes planned to get back to work and prep ready for her next swing of events.

She added: “I have got an invite to Singapore. Going into this week I hadn’t really done that much prep so seeing how I did this week without it, I’m looking forward to next week being sunny so I can grind every day. It’s giving me a lot of confidence starting off the new year.

“I’m really excited to play in Singapore. It’s my first LPGA event of the year and I’m looking forward to playing against a strong field. We had a lot of strong players here, so it’s given me an idea but I’m really looking forward to it.”
