ALEXANDER EXCITED FOR 2026 AFTER STRONG START TO SEASON

Casandra Alexander

Casandra Alexander is off to a good start in 2026 after strong finishes on both the Sunshine Ladies Tour (SLT) and Ladies European Tour (LET).

The South African, who won the Investec Order of Merit in 2025, began her season on the SLT losing in a six-hole playoff at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge.

After that agonising defeat, Alexander headed to Saudi Arabia for the LET’s season-opening event – the 2026 PIF Saudi Ladies International.

The LET winner produced rounds of 67-67-68-68 at Riyadh Golf Club to finish in a share of second place on 18-under-par and one stroke behind winner Charley Hull.

Despite coming up just short of victory, Alexander was pleased with how her game is shaping up.

“It’s been a great start to the season, and there have been a lot of positives from this week,” she said.

“I can learn from a couple of the shots, but overall, it was pretty solid. I think I made four bogeys this whole week which is a lot less than I usually do. I usually do that in a day. It’s a good start to the season.”

Alexander played in the final group on the last day in Riyadh with two players in the top 20 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as she teed up alongside Korea’s Hye-Jin Choi and Japan’s Rio Takeda.

Having seen their games up close, that gave the 26-year-old confidence for the season ahead that she can compete with the best.

She explained: “I played with the girls today, I didn’t feel like I was very far behind them in skill. I heard on the announcements on the green that they’re 14th and 19th in the world.

“I think it’s just solidifying that I am good enough to compete with the best and we have just got to keep pushing. That gives me a great start to the season, the prep has been good and I’m excited to see what the rest of 2026 has in store for me.”
