The presentation was attended by Mr Carlos García, regional delegate for Tourism and Andalusia Abroad; Ms Esperanza González, CEO of Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol; Mr Jacobo Florido, Councillor for Tourism and Promotion of Malaga City Council; Mr Jaime Salaverri, Vice-President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation; Mr Ángel Gancedo, President of the Real Guadalhorce Golf Club; Mr João Pinto, Tournament Director at the LET; Ms Alicia Garrido, Executive Director of Sport & Business; and Ms Azahara Muñoz, two-time Open champion and LET and LPGA player.

At the opening ceremony, Mr Carlos García emphasised the strategic value of the tournament for Andalusia, highlighting the Regional Government’s pride in supporting an event of ‘the highest magnitude’, capable of projecting the region internationally and reaching audiences of over 300 million households. He also highlighted the economic and tourism impact associated with golf, a sector that contributes decisively to positioning Andalusia as a leading destination for quality sport and tourism.

Along the same lines, Ms Esperanza González highlighted the potential of women’s golf for the Costa del Sol, recalling that the destination has the highest concentration of golf courses in continental Europe. She emphasised the sustained growth of the women’s segment and its impact on seasonality, pointing out that the destination’s offering receives an outstanding average rating from international players.

On behalf of Malaga City Council, Mr Jacobo Florido welcomed the return of the tournament to the Real Guadalhorce Golf Club for the second consecutive year and highlighted the enormous economic benefits of golf for the province. He defended Malaga’s firm commitment to major sporting competitions and reiterated the importance of consolidating this LET final as a landmark event for the city.

The Vice-President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Mr Jaime Salaverri, thanked the institutional support and highlighted the importance of competing in a members’ club, which, he said, brings closeness, participation and involvement to the tournament. He also underlined the quality of the field of players and the sporting appeal of an edition in which the Order of Merit of the circuit will be decided.

The president of the host club, Mr. Ángel Gancedo, conveyed the pride of the Real Guadalhorce Golf Club in once again hosting the LET final and emphasised the involvement of the club team and its members. He highlighted the excitement surrounding this second consecutive edition and the satisfaction that Malaga is once again in the international spotlight of women’s golf.

On behalf of the Ladies European Tour, Mr. João Pinto acknowledged the efforts of the club and the organisers to raise the bar even higher than last year. He highlighted the excellent condition of the course and encouraged the public to enjoy a week ‘that will be extraordinary for the players and for all the fans’.

Ms Alicia Garrido, executive director of Deporte & Business, expressed her gratitude for the collaboration between institutions and sponsors, which is key to the continuity and growth of the Open. She noted that this edition will bring together 72 professionals—including the best of the season—and three promising Spanish amateurs, in a decisive week for the outcome of the LET and with top-level international media coverage.

Ms Azahara Muñoz, two-time Open champion and LET and LPGA professional, closed the event, excited to be competing again in front of her home crowd, highlighting the support of sponsors, federations and the club itself. She said that returning to Malaga ‘is always special’ and expressed her desire to enjoy this week and offer her best golf in front of fans she considers unique.
