A group of children from across India were treated to a special experience at the 2025 Hero Women’s Indian Open.
The LET/WGAI Camp of Excellence supported by the R&A saw the children attend the final three tournament days at DLF Golf and Country Club.
A full programme of activities was on offer for the children across the three days which included staff presentations, golf clinics, talks and opportunities to spectate.
Staff from the Ladies European Tour (LET) gave presentations to the children and also showed them a behind the scenes view of the tournament and the different services on offer to players.
The WGAI similarly also did a presentation explaining their role in the tournament and highlighting the growth of women’s golf in India.
The group were also able to watch the Hero Shot Challenge which took place on Saturday evening after play.
LET player Alice Hewson demonstrated her skills in the Hero Golf Clinic on Friday after she had played in the tournament.
Speaking afterwards, the three-time LET winner said: “It means everything because without giving back to the next generation doesn’t come through and they don’t get inspired. If I can help even a single girl choose to pick professional golf as their job, I have done my job and that means everything to me.”
The LET Sustainability Initiative (LETSI) works with partners equally committed to putting sustainable leadership and green partnerships in focus to make a global impact.
LETSI is about using the power of our tournaments to participate and showcase action and innovation across a range of priority issues such as environmental responsibility, community engagement, and working towards achieving tournament climate neutrality.
