Fresh off her fifth Ladies European Tour (LET) title, Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz is flying high after a two-stroke victory at the 2025 Aramco Houston Championship.
Three birdies in her final five holes saw Iturrioz surge ahead of compatriot Carlotta Ciganda and England’s Charley Hull to secure her first victory since 2023 (La Sella Open).
The Spaniard arrived in Switzerland on Tuesday from Houston and will tee it up at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open this week, looking to build on the confidence gained from last week’s performance.
“I’ve been speaking with my caddie David, my coach, and friends – and that’s when you really appreciate all the work behind a win”, said the now five-time LET winner. “I enjoyed that win so much. Then it was straight onto a flight to Switzerland, and now I’m here.”

She continued: “During the whole week, I had been really solid with my irons and my driver, and that’s what I’ve been working on the past three weeks with my coach. I could really see it pay off last week, which of course made it even better.”
Throughout this season she explained that she’d put herself in contention a few times, but had sometimes made bigger mistakes on the final nine holes so fallen short.
“Having those past experiences prepared me well last week – to be more calm and focused. We had a bad shot on hole six, and I think we managed it pretty well, as then the last five holes were really good.”
Sunday’s final round paired her once again with Ciganda. “It was cool. We played the same tournament two years ago in Florida, at West Palm Beach. It was the same, I was also leading with her, but she went onto win that one.”
Conditions in Switzerland, however, will pose a new test. “The course is very different to last week – the grass, the wet ground where the ball just stops. But I think it suits me. It reminds me of my home course, with lots of trees. And I love Switzerland – the mountains make it special.”
With Iturrioz’ latest win, she now moves just outside the Top 10 of the Order of Merit, now sitting in 13th place on 1,018.07 points to her name.
“I didn’t even realise until one of my friends told me about it and I was like, wow, I didn’t even think about it.”
Heading into the last part of the 2025 season, the Spainard is taking it shot by shot, day by day and tournament by tournament. “I just want to enjoy the last part of the season. The tournaments that are coming up are pretty cool, obviously at home next week at La Sella which is always a great one.”
The latest LET winner starts her campaign in round one on Thursday at 1:28pm (local time), alongside Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini and Caroline Sturdza.
