After a week’s break in the Ladies European Tour (LET) season schedule, the Tour heads to the Nordics this week for an exciting new addition to the calendar, the Hill’s Open, taking place 22-24 August, 2025.
The inaugural Hills Open will be held at the Hills Golf & Sports Club, situated just 10 km south of central Gothenburg, Sweden. A total of 132 players will compete in a 54-hole stroke play competition, with a prize fund of €300,000.
Hills Golf & Sports Club has hosted four professional tournaments previously including the Scandinavian Invitation (2019), Nordea Masters (2018), Dubliner Challenge (2008), and the Telia Ladies Finale (2007).
Despite this being the first edition of the tournament, the LET has previously hosted many tournaments in Sweden. In the last five years, there has been the Scandinavian Mixed (2021-2024); Helsingborg Open (2023-24); Skaftö Open (2021-22) and Creekhouse Ladies Open (2021).
A total of 31 nationalities will be teeing it up in this week’s field, including 19 players from Sweden. Home favourites include Moa Folke, LET rookie Kajsa Arwefjäll, LPGA rookie Ingrid Lindblad, and Sofie Bringner, who will all enjoy the advantage of competing in their home country. Bringner, in particular, will enjoy the added edge of playing on her home course at Hills Golf & Sports Club.
Three winners from the 2025 season are in attendance with England’s Mimi Rhodes (Ford Women’s NSW Open, Joburg Ladies Open, Dutch Ladies Open), Czechia’s Sara Kouskova (Jabra Ladies Open, Tenerife Women’s Open), and Wales’ Darcey Harry (Hulencourt Women’s Open).
Rhodes, who currently leads the Order of Merit standings on 1,821.74 points, is amongst the 26 rookies in the field this week and will be hoping to further extend her lead. Kouskova will also be looking for a good week in Sweden, who currently sits just behind in second place on 1,473.71 points.
Of the 132 players in the field, there are 27 LET winners who have a combined total of 47 LET victories between them. Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord has the most LET wins out of the field with five to her name, with the most recent win at the Aramco Team Series – London in 2021.
