Kim Metraux had a consistent week in Wollongong, finishing in a share of fifth place at the 2025 Ford Women’s NSW Open.
The Swiss star produced rounds of 67-68-69-69 to make her first cut of the season and record a top-10 finish.
Metraux had an excellent highlight in her final round of 69 (-2) which was a hole-in-one on the par-3 10th hole.
“I actually wasn’t hitting it very close to the flags today up until that point,” she said. “But as soon as it came off the face I was really pleased with the shot. I actually started looking away just to put the club back in the bag and that’s when I heard people screaming. Then the ball just disappeared.
“I’m really pleased with it. It had been a few years since my last hole-in-one so I’m really happy and it definitely got my round going again. It was 142 metres (155 yards) and I hit a 7-iron. I think that’s now my sixth hole-in-one in total!”
The 29-year-old enjoyed the Australian swing and was pleased to get a good result under her belt having had a rocky start to the season.
Having produced her best result of the year, Metraux is now getting to enjoy some family time with her parents.
She added: “I had both my parents out here this week. It’s nice to have them here and be able to share the experiences with them together. I had my mum on the bag last week and dad this week. We just tried to enjoy every moment. We’re flying to New Zealand tomorrow for a family trip. I’m going to enjoy it for sure.
“I’m really happy with the way I played all week and as always have loved my time here in Australia. I was very consistent. Fingers crossed for no cyclones next year!
“It’s nice to be in that position again. I obviously didn’t get off to the best of starts this season, the game was there I just didn’t score well enough. It’s nice to have this week and I’ll keep building on it.”
