Home star Ruoning Yin is making her debut in the unique format at this week’s Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Shenzhen.

The Chinese star has already had success this year in a team format winning the Dow Championship alongside Jeeno Thitikul on the LPGA Tour.

Yin will tee it up on the World Cup Course at Mission Hills China in the Aramco Team Series – Shenzhen which sees two competitions happening side by side.

There will be the 36-hole Team competition for the first two days, meanwhile there is also the 54-hole Individual stroke play competition.

The 22-year-old, who is ranked number four in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, is looking forward to the week ahead.

“I love team events, and I heard from a lot of my friends about how fun this tournament is,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to having fun with my friends and maybe playing some good golf.

“Nothing can be better than winning with your best friend. That week at the Dow Championship was the most fun week of the year. I’m already looking forward to going back next year.”

At the Draft party, Yin picked CLPGA player Danlin Cai as her teammate and they will also be joined by Norway’s Madelene Stavnar and amateur XiaoGuang Wu.

In the first round which begins on Friday 4 October, the quartet will tee it up from the first tee at 10.51 am (local time).

The major champion is happy to be back on home soil and believes it’s a great opportunity for CLPGA players to learn on such a big stage.

“I have known her for Danlin, she is my friend that I grew up playing with so it’s really cool to play with her again on this big stage,” she continued.

“It’s always cool to see the CLPGA co-operate with the LET, it means the Chinese players get more chances to learn. It’s really good for China golf to develop.

“This course, I think the most difficult part is the greens. The speed, I wasn’t expecting it to be that quick. With the grain and you have to pick a really good landing spot to get close to the pin and for me, reading the grain is also another challenge.

“It’s always cool to be able to be back home and play in front of all of my family and friends. I’m just happy to be back home.”
