PELÁEZ TRIVINO HOPING FOR INSPIRATION AT DORMY OPEN HELSINGBORG

After taking some time off, Ana Peláez Trivino is hoping to find some inspiration and kickstart some momentum ahead of this week’s Dormy Open Helsingborg Open.

At the 2023 edition of the tournament, the Spanish star finished in second place behind home winner Lisa Pettersson.

Peláez Trivino had a very consistent week recording rounds of 68-69-69 around Allerum Golf Club to finish on 10-under-par.

“I have great memories from last year,” she said. “I remember I played this week right after Pablo Larrazábal won a tournament and then Adrian Otaegui was also fighting for the trophy.

“They inspired me that week. Hopefully, this year I get to feel the same and be inspired by something and get that momentum going.”

It is the 26-year-old’s first appearance on the LET since the Joburg Ladies Open, where she finished in a tie for 16th place.

And Peláez Trivino believed she needed to take some time to work on things in her game to feel more like herself.

During that time the LET winner wasn’t working on anything specific, just the usual parts of her game, but feels she is able to compete again.

“I decided to take some time off and work on stuff because I wasn’t feeling my golf,” she explained. “For me, there’s no point in coming to a tournament and thinking of trying stuff.

“I like competing when I know I can compete. I have been working on some gym stuff and the usual, nothing new, but just spending more time on those things.”

Having put in a great performance here in 2023, Peláez Trivino knows she is capable of having a good result.

The 2022 Madrid Ladies Open winner is in a happier place and is excited to be able to tee it up on the LET once again.

She added: “Being patient and letting everything happen. I remember being on the fairway off the tee is key, so hopefully I can get that going this week.

“I like competing, now I enjoy it in a different way but that’s my way and I am really happy for competing my way and doing everything my way now. That’s what I’m excited to see this week.”
