With just one event remaining of the 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) season, the stage is set for the finale in Spain.
The winner of the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol will be crowned at the end of the week – the season-long competition which sees the number one player on the LET take home the trophy.
There are six players who mathematically still have a chance of winning the prestigious title at the end of Sunday’s play.

Trichat Cheenglab
Nationality: Thailand
Joined the Tour: 2023 (Rookie)
RTCDS Rank: 1st – 1,961.72 points
2023 Wins: Big Green Egg Open
The Thai star has a chance to follow in the footsteps of 2021 Race to Costa del Sol winner Atthaya Thitikul this week. After producing consistent performances across the 2023 season, Cheenglab has a chance to become the sixth player to win both the Race to Costa del Sol and Rookie of the Year titles in the same season. With a 168.84 point lead, Cheenglab just needs to finish tied alongside or ahead of her rivals to clinch the title.
Celine Boutier
Nationality: France
Joined the Tour: 2017
RTCDS Rank: 2nd – 1,792.88 points
2023 Wins: The Amundi Evian Championship, FREED GROUP Women’s Scottish Open Presented by Trust Golf
After a season in which she has won four times and been part of an historic Solheim Cup, the French star has a chance to add another piece of silverware to her collection. Boutier won her first Major in the summer on home soil and finished second in the LPGA’s Rolex Player of the Year standings. If she wins this tournament, she’ll win the Race to Costa del Sol.
Diksha Dagar
Nationality: India
Joined the Tour: 2019
RTCDS Rank: 3rd – 1,742.11 points
2023 Wins: Tipsport Czech Ladies Open
In her fifth season on Tour, the Indian star entered the winner’s circle again for the first time since 2019 securing victory in Czechia. After changing some of her equipment earlier in the year and working very hard on her putting, Dagar found a run of consistent form and catapulted herself up the standings to give herself the chance to be first Indian to win Order of Merit on the LET.
Johanna Gustavsson
Nationality: Sweden
Joined the Tour: 2016
RTCDS Rank: 4th – 1,621.97 points
2023 Wins: Lacoste Ladies Open de France
In 2022, Gustavsson had a consistent season – her best to date – and rounded out the Swedish trio at the top of the Race to Costa del Sol. The Swede’s form has been building throughout 2023 and her first victory on Tour finally came in France in September. The LET winner has to win this week to have a chance of reaching top spot.
Alexandra Försterling
Nationality: Germany
Joined the Tour: 2023 (Rookie)
RTCDS Rank: 5th – 1,548.09 points
2023 Wins: VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open, Mallorca Ladies Golf Open
Försterling was a co-medallist at LET Q-School back in December and has had a very steady rookie year on Tour. The German star captured her first LET title in Switzerland in September and added another last week in Mallorca to put herself in the frame for the Race to Costa del Sol and Rookie of the Year. Försterling would have to win again this week to have a chance but with her hot form lately, you wouldn’t put it past her.
Ana Peláez Trivino
Nationality: Spain
Joined the Tour: 2022
RTCDS Rank: 6th – 1,529.20 points
Best results: 2nd place at Joburg Ladies Open, Investec SA Women’s Open, Helsingborg Open
The Spanish star has been near the top of the Race to Costa del Sol throughout the 2023 season after a series of consistent performances. Even though she hasn’t claimed a victory, three second-place finishes with three further top-10s have left Peláez Trivino with a chance of glory in her home country.
