(Evian-les-Bains July 25 2003) American veterans Rosie Jones and Juli Inkster share the lead on 14 under par heading into the final round of the $2.1million Evian Masters after a perfect day for scoring by the banks of Lake Geneva.

“I played very well, drove it well, hit my irons well and putted well so I’m happy with the way I played today,” said Inkster, who, since the start of her career in 1983 has won 12 times from 26 occasions when she held the penultimate round lead.
“It was good to come back with a solid round today after yesterday and I know I will have to play well again tomorrow to win – I’d certainly take another 64.”
But in the ten year history of this event, an America has yet to savour victory and with conditions ripe for scoring, the eventual winner could feasibly appear from the chasing pack.
Hee Won Han, a powerful Korean sits just two shots adrift of the 43-year-old Americans and lurking just a shot further back is Sophie Gustafson from Sweden, who is aiming for her third straight victory on European soil after wins in Biarritz and Ireland. Gustafson finished with two closing birdies to post a five under 67.
“I had a couple of pushes out there, which led to bogeys, but overall I played well. I’m only three back and it’s going to be fun trying to catch them,” said Gustafson.
