A tree planting event took place beside the 18th green of the Blackstone Course at Mission Hills Resort Haikou ahead of the World Ladies Championship on Hainan Island, China. The USD$ 600.000 event is staged March 12-15, 2015.
This was part of the Mission Hills campaign to ‘Take Greener Strides for Bluer Skies’ and Mr Tenniel Chu, Vice Chairman of Mission Hills Group, told the gathered players and officials: “We are delighted you are able to join us for this special ceremony to mark National Tree Planting Day in China. Mission Hills has, for many years, been an industry pioneer in protecting the environment. Our golf courses are self-sufficient in utilising natural resources, our education programmes and activities encourage awareness and appreciation of environmental issues, and all our new projects and expansion plans remain true to the ethos of sustainable development. Your support for events such as this helps educate the public about our ongoing responsibility to protect the environment and the need to build a greener future for our children.”
