(Rome, Italy – June 5 2005) Denmark’s Iben Tinning claimed her second victory in three weeks on the LET in the €300,000 BMW Ladies Italian Open at Sheraton Golf Parco de’ Medici.

“It means quite a lot. I won the Italian Open before and I like Italy and I like Rome. I think it’s a great place and I liked the back nine a lot better.
“After seeing Zorzi make that three on the last, that made it tougher but then again, it’s a par five and I made my par so I’m very delighted.”
Tinning remains at the top of the LET Money list and moves to second in The 2005 Solheim Cup points table. There are seven places available for automatic selection.
“I’m definitely looking forward to The Solheim Cup and I feel quite comfortable now. I thought that I would need to play well in July and August but it looks like I already have done so that’s not bad, is it?” said Tinning.
She spent the majority of last year playing in America but after a tough time, this year she is competing in Europe.
“I was struggling last year on the LPGA but I think I just got a lot stronger mentally,” she said.
Another player who showed her tough mentality out on the golf course was Zorzi, a 24-year-old from Verona.
After a round which had already included six birdies, two bogeys and an eagle at the 11th, her approach to the 18th green met rapturous applause and mass cries of ‘brava’ from her Italian supporters.
Her sand wedge from 75 metres landed just a metre from the flag before skipping straight into the hole for eagle, which shook the leader, Tinning, up a little.
“It was incredible and the best moment of my career,” admitted Zorzi, adding, “I am very happy.”
“It’s a pity I wasn’t a shot better today, but its okay. I’ll wait until another competition, next week at the French Open.”
Sandolo, who had her best round as a professional, said: “I had nine birdies which is my personal record, so I am very happy. Around the tenth and eleventh hole I thought I could win but I didn’t want to watch the leader board as I was trying to keep my concentration.
“There were perfect conditions and I love playing here in Rome. I’m delighted that with Veronica we have two Italians in the top three,” said the 27-year-old, who lives in Nice and loves to dance the Salsa.
“I am playing well at the moment and feeling fit because I have started to follow a training regime. I’ve gained 45 yards on my drives.”
Sandolo has a huge profile following the release of her 2005 calendar and she added that she will be releasing another version next year.
Brooky admitted: “I sort of gave up after six holes because I couldn’t even hit the ball straight. But when I gave up everything started to come back so that just gave me a bit more confidence.
“I’m really looking forward to the next tournament because I love the course and I’ve won twice in France so it should be exciting.”
