THREE THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR AT THE TRUST GOLF WOMEN’S SCOTTISH OPEN

The Ladies European Tour (LET) returns to the UK with the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open this week.

Dumbarnie Links plays host to the 12th event of the season which sees LET and LPGA stars battle it out in Scotland.

Here are three things to watch out for…

A brand-new course

This year’s venue is Dumbarnie Links, which is located on the north shore of Largo Bay and only 12 miles from St Andrews – the Home of Golf.

Dumbarnie, which opened in May 2020, is a stunning links course which has a mile and half of sea frontage and panoramic views over the Firth of Forth.

The 345-acre site features elevated tees with a number of greens and tees in close proximity to water, while there are several holes generate risk and reward. 

With a new challenge to tackle, let’s see how the best players in the world take on this stunning course.

Stacked field descends on Dumbarnie

Stars from all around the world will tee it up at the 2021 Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open from 12-15 August.

Defending champion Stacy Lewis returns to the tournament following her victory at the Renaissance Club last year. There are 16 Major winners entered in the field including England’s Georgia Hall and Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist.

A strong Scottish contingent will also be ready to shine at home with Gemma Dryburgh, Alison Muirhead, Carly Booth, Kelsey Macdonald, Kylie Henry and Michele Thomson all entered.

Solheim Cup countdown is on

There is less than a month to go until the 2021 Solheim Cup when Team Europe will seek to defend the trophy at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.

Team Europe will comprise of the top two players n the Solheim Cup Points standings, the top four players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings and six captain’s picks.

While Team USA will consist of the top seven players in the USA Solheim Cup standings, the top two players in the Rolex Women’s Golf World Rankings not already eligible and three captain’s picks.

With two events left in the qualification period, players on each side will be vying to finalise their spots ahead of next month.
