The LET has announced the appointment of Theresa McCann as its new Commercial Director.
McCann joins the organisation following two extraordinary careers, including 20 years with The New York Times, as Managing Director of Travel, and 18 years with NBC Sports, as Director, Strategic Partnerships.
Prior to that, McCann’s career included stints at Golf Channel, Golf Digest and Tennis, Inc, a division of the New York Times.
“I am excited to join Alexandra Armas and the amazing team at the Ladies European Tour. After two stellar careers at NBC Sports and The New York Times, I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this global movement of elite women athletes. It is an honour beyond compare,” said McCann, adding: “The players who are the LET are extraordinary and the team that supports them the same. I am looking forward to telling their story and creating unique partnerships in the process.”
LET CEO Alexandra Armas said: “We are thrilled to welcome Theresa, who has the experience, passion and relationships necessary to champion women’s golf and take the LET to the next level. I am incredibly impressed by her track record in generating significant revenue, negotiating large commercial deals and creating strategic relationships with corporate partners. She has already identified areas for creating new revenue streams and we believe that she is the right person to drive strong commercial growth for our organisation now and in the years to come.”
McCann most recently led her own consultancy firm, working with clients in the golf, travel and tourism industries in the areas of revenue generation, business development, media, television distribution and strategy.
She is now ready for the new challenge of building on the growth strategy for the long-term success of the LET, which is well placed for success having generated $300 M+ in annual net sponsorship value and over 30,000 hours of global television coverage in 2024.
