THE ANDALUCÍA COSTA DEL SOL OPEN DE ESPAÑA PRESENTED BY OYSHO RETURNS TO REAL GUADALHORCE CLUB DE GOLF

Real Guadalhorce
  • The prestigious Malaga club will host the last event of the year on the LET for the second year in a row from 27th to 30th November.
  • Guadalhorce rose to the occasion in 2024, providing a spectacular stage for Carlota Ciganda’s triumph on home soil.

The Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, one of the most iconic stages of Andalusian golf, will once again host the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2025 presented by Oysho, the last event of the Ladies European Tour (LET) season. Taking place from 27th to 30th November, it will be the second time in a row that the Malaga club will host a women’s golf tournament in Spain.

The 2024 edition was a turning point for Guadalhorce. For the first time in its history, it hosted a women’s tournament on the European circuit, and the result could not have been any better. For four days, the course offered a technical challenge of the highest level and an unbeatable environment, earning the unanimous praise of players, coaches and fans. The tournament concluded with an emotional victory for Carlota Ciganda, who won her second Spanish Open after a thrilling showdown with Manon De Roey, rounding off a record-breaking season for the LET.

Ángel Gancedo Arjona, president of Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf commented: “Hosting this great tournament again is recognition of a job well done last year. In 2024, we proved that Guadalhorce has everything it takes to host a great final: a demanding course, first class facilities and a dedicated team. It will be a pleasure to open our doors again to the some of the world’s best golfers.”

The  Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf course challenges the players with its variety of holes and fast and technical greens. Redesigned by Miguel Ángel Jiménez in 2007 on the original layout by Kosti Kuronen, the course is part of the legacy of Spanish golf. Its history is also linked to the great names on the national scene, with Jiménez himself as champion of the Spanish Men’s Professional Championship in 1999 and 2002.

In 2024, this same venue was the setting for Ciganda’s memorable final round, mastering the course and holding off from the pressure of  De Roey to win with -18 and a one-stroke lead over the Belgian. The audience witnessed to the great performance of the young amateur from Madrid, Andrea Revuelta, who finished fifth and won the Celia Barquín Award for the best amateur of the tournament.

But Guadalhorce is much more than a demanding course. The club is set in the grounds of the Cortijo Colmenares, the former 18th century residence of the Marquises of Larios, and its clubhouse, an Andalusian country house with chapel included, offers a unique experience for players and visitors alike. Its proximity to the airport and the centre of Malaga make the club a strategic venue for the organisation of the tournament, as well as an ideal showcase to project Andalusian and Spanish golf to the world.

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2025 presented by Oysho, will bring together the 72 best players of the LET and three best Spanish amateurs, giving out 700,000 euros in prize money. And it will do so, once again, on a stage that has already proven to be on a par with the best in the world.
