The Ladies European Tour (LET) returned to China this week with the Aramco China Championship taking place on the World Cup Course at Mission Hills China in Shenzhen between 6-8 November.
It is the final event of the PIF Global Series and will see both the 36-hole Team competition and 54-hole Individual competition happening alongside one another in Shenzhen.
With a couple of days before the event tees off on Thursday, the teams for the Aramco China Championship were finalised on Tuesday.
A total of 26 teams will take part in the tournament with Team Captains selected using the official Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of Monday 27 October, 2025.
Of the teams, 25 of them will be made up of four professionals with one team comprised of four Chinese amateurs.
As with previous events, the captains picked in reverse order with the 26th-ranked captain selecting first and the 1st ranked captain choosing last.
Each captain chose one player to be on their team, meanwhile the third and fourth members were picked at random.
The captains used different strategies for their picks including choosing a close friend, a player from the same country or someone who is in good form.
World number seven Ruoning Yin picked compatriot Jingwen Zhang, who she knows from playing with in junior golf, and they will also play alongside Wales’ Chloe Williams and China’s Jiaying He.
Picking a player from the same country was a popular option this week with Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley choosing Kelsey Bennet, Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz selected Maria Hernandez and Luna Sobron Galmes picked Blanca Fernandez.
Similarly, Germany’s Helen Briem opted for Patricia Isabel Schmidt, France’s Nastasia Nadaud selected Agathe Sauzon and Sara Kouskova picked fellow Czech player Jana Melichova.
Defending team captain Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland chose Irish rookie Anna Foster and they will play with Morocco’s Maha Haddioui and Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby.
Two-time LET winner Alison Lee decided upon China’s Muni He and they are also joined by Thailand’s April Angurasaranee and China’s Yuli Shi.
LET Order of Merit leader Shannon Tan of Singapore selected one of her best friends Amy Taylor of England and they will play alongside Norway’s Dorthea Forbrigd and India’s Diksha Dagar.
