The Ladies European Tour (LET) is in the Lone Star state this week with the Aramco Houston Championship taking place at Golfcrest Country Club between 5-7 September.
It is the fourth event in the PIF Global Series and will see both the 36-hole Team competition and 54-hole Individual competition happening alongside one another in Houston.
With a few days before the event tees off on Friday, the team for the Aramco Houston Championship were finalised on Tuesday.
A total of 26 teams comprising of four professionals will take part in the tournament with Team Captains selected using the official Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of Monday 25 August, 2025.
As with previous events, the captains picked in reverse order with the 26th-ranked captain selecting first and the 1st ranked captain choosing last.
Each captain chose one professional to be on their team, meanwhile the third and fourth members were picked at random.
The captains used different strategies for their picks including choosing a close friend, a player from the same country or someone who is in good form.
France’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who has won the last two team competitions in the United States, selected Morocco’s Maha Haddioui and they will be joined by England’s Megan Dennis and Germany’s Verena Gimmy.
Germany’s Laura Fünfstück, who won the Individual title in London last month, picked her wife Rosie Davies of England, and the couple will be joined by France’s Vanessa Bouvet and India’s Avani Prashanth.
World number 10 Charley Hull chose compatriot Billie-Jo Smith of England and they will also have Canada’s Anna Huang and Japan’s Ayako Uehara alongside them.
USA’s Alison Lee, who makes her return to competition this week, selected Malaysia’s Ashley Lau and they will be joined by American Hannah Gregg and Spain’s Marta Sanz Barrio.
Austria’s Emma Spitz picked best friend Alexandra Försterling of Germany, who won the Individual title in Tampa in 2024, and they will play alongside England’s Thalia Martin and Hong Kong’s Ginnie Ding.
LET winner Helen Briem selected fellow German winner Patricia Isabel Schmidt and it was a similar strategy for Perrine Delacour who chose her compatriot Ariane Klotz.
