There are fewer than 50 days to go until the 2024 Solheim Cup takes place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.

With the prestigious event getting ever closer, all eyes turn to the team selection which is happening in under one month.

The 2024 AIG Women’s Open, which is being played at St Andrews, is the final qualification event for both the European and U.S. Teams.

At the conclusion of the final major of the year, the eight automatic European qualifiers will be confirmed with Captain Suzann Pettersen announcing her four picks on Monday 26 August.

With not long to go, the European Team currently looks has England’s Charley Hull and Sweden’s Linn Grant qualifying through the LET points.

Hull has accumulated 178.25 points during the qualifying period, while Grant jumped into the second spot following her win at the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.

The next six spots will be filled by the top six eligible players through the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

France’s Celine Boutier, who is seventh in the world, takes the first of those spots followed by Sweden’s Maja Stark and Ireland’s Leona Maguire.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda is in the fourth spot with Sweden’s Madelene Sagström in the fifth and England’s Georgia Hall in the final automatic place.

Germany’s Esther Henseleit is the nearest contender to take an automatic spot as she sits 4.73 points behind Grant in third place in the points list, and she would also be the next player in the Rolex Rankings list too.

With a crucial few weeks ahead, let’s see who will put their best foot forward to try and catch Captain Pettersen’s attention.
