Chiara Tamburlini capped off a highly consistent season with another stellar performance at the Aramco China Championship firing a final round 66 (-7) to secure her third runner-up finish of 2025.
Chasing a fourth Ladies European Tour (LET) title, the Swiss star went low on Saturday going bogey-free to soar up the leaderboard as China’s Ruixin Liu claimed a three-shot victory. The scorecard included four birdies in the final five holes to sign off her season in style.
“Honestly it was really fun,” Tamburlini said. “I feel like I haven’t really been able to chase down a lead yet in my career, often I got ahead of myself and push too much. But I stayed really patient and in the end it turned out nice. My long game improved a lot throughout the week, it progressively got better and it’s cool when you’re able to have your game peak on the final round, especially on the back nine.”
The spotlight was firmly on the Swiss star this year following a prolific debut season on the LET – one which included three victories, the Order of Merit, Rookie of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year accolades.
While a fourth LET win evaded Tamburlini in 2025, it was still a season to remember as the 25-year-old recorded 10 top-10s including runner-up finishes in Korea, Switzerland and China. On top of that, Tamburlini enjoyed a memorable Major campaign contending at both the U.S. Women’s Open and AIG Women’s Open finishing T14 and T13 respectively.
“Honestly, I’m very happy with my year,” the popular figure said. “I think I had quite a few highlights this year. There was no win, but there some other great highlights. Overall, it’s been really enjoyable. I would say I’ve learned more this year than last year. I felt a lot of things this year were really stressful – expectations were very high after last year so at times were hard to handle. But I’m very pleased with the progress I’ve been making, especially the last third of the season.”
Currently sitting fourth in the 2025 Order of Merit, Tamburlini now heads to the USA to prepare for the Final Stage of LPGA Q-Series which takes place in December. The 25-year-old will no doubt be full of confidence following a strong end to her LET season, a run which included six top-10s in the last two months.
Tamburlini continued: “That’s been really cool [to finish the season well] and now I’ve very excited to go to LPGA Q-School. It’s nice that it’s not too long of a break, a bit shorter than last year. It’s going to be good.”
Final Qualifying for LPGA Q-Series takes place between 4-8 December at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Alabama. The top 25 and ties will earn LPGA status for the 2026 season.
On top of securing an LPGA Tour card for 2026, Tamburlini’s sights will also be set on qualifying for the Solheim Cup which takes place in September. Following two fantastic seasons on the LET, the Swiss star currently tops the LET Solheim Cup standings on 130.60 points. The top two players in the rankings come the end of the qualification period will earn a place in Anna Nordqvist’s team. Crucially, points will count double in 2026.
