The Ladies European Tour returns to Sweden this week, as we head back to the beautiful surrounds of the West Coast for the Skaftö Open.
The scenic course was the location for Pauline Roussin Bouchard’s maiden LET win last year, with the French star firing a second round score of 60 (-9) on the way to victory.
This year sees a stellar field coming to Sweden, with the top two in the Race to Costa Del Sol ready to tee it up in their home country.
Current leader Maja Stark and nearest challenger Linn Grant will have fond memories of this course, with both making their professional LET debuts in the 2021 iteration of the tournament.
Stark would go on to finish in a tie for 17th spot last year, while Grant finished one behind Roussin Bouchard in a tie for second with Magdalena Simmermacher, and there is no question both will have their sights set on glory this time around.
Simmermacher will be back and ready to challenge at the top of the leaderboard once again this week, with the Argentine still searching for her first win on tour, while 2021 winners Lee-Anne Pace, Ana Peláez Trevino and Meghan Maclaren will also be teeing it up.
Lydia Hall and Whitney Hillier both finished in the top ten around this track last year, and both will be ready to compete once again this time around, with Hillier looking to maintain her place in the top ten of the Race to Costa Del Sol rankings.
As well as Grant and Stark, there will be a raft of Swedes looking to impress on home soil this week, with six-time LET winner Caroline Hedwall among those in the field, as well as Jessica Karlsson, Camilla Lennarth, Linda Wessberg and Lina Boqvist.
In total there will be 25 Swedes hoping for a strong performance in their homeland, with Linnea Ström, Elin Arvidsson and Sofie Bringner also among those looking to capitalise on home comforts in the coming days.
Louise Duncan will also be looking to impress this week, with the newly turned professional coming into the tournament off the back of an impressive professional debut at the AIG Women’s Open earlier this month where she finished in the top 20.
