Stars out in force at launch of 2015 ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters

European Solheim Cup Captain Carin Koch was joined by 16 fellow Ladies European Tour professionals and more than 50 top international journalists at Buckinghamshire Golf Club for the launch of the 2015 ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters.

The championship will take place at the venue, home to the Ladies European Tour’s headquarters, on 2nd-5th July, with several world class players already confirmed for the LET’s showcase tournament.

The best international players including Charley Hull, Dame Laura Davies and the stars of the Solheim Cup will showcase their amazing skills over four days of competitive golf on one of the most beautiful courses in the UK when the fourth edition of the championship gets under way this summer. This year’s event will be the only opportunity to watch and learn from 144 world class women golfers in England.

Players from eight European countries joined the launch day, including Scotland’s Kylie Walker, who claimed last year’s Dutch and German Opens.  The reigning Turkish Airlines Ladies Open champion Valentine Derrey travelled from France to join Italian Open winner Florentyna Parker of England, 2013 Pilsen Masters winner Ann-Kathrin Lindner and the recent Lalla Aicha Tour School champion Nanna Madsen of Denmark.

The other rising stars from around Europe included Norwegian Caroline Martens, Mireia Prat from Spain, Leigh Whittaker from Germany and Scottish pair Sally Watson and Kelsey MacDonald. Representing England were Liz Young, Hannah Burke, Holly Aitchison and Ellie Givens along with rookie professionals Emma Goddard and Alex Peters, who both came through Lalla Aicha Tour School in December.

The ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters is a unique opportunity to see world class women professional golfers compete in England this year, but with great food and entertainment for kids and adults alike, the event offers a great day out for the whole family, regardless of whether they play golf.

Children will be spoilt for choice with a range of fun activities including mini golf and face painting. The kids’ zone will include ‘Starting New At Golf’ (SNAG): an exciting introduction to the game with colourful large clubs, balls and games for toddlers and the young at heart. Adults can relax and treat themselves to something special from one of the many stalls in the village and there will be shopping galore with exclusive retail discounts from a range of stores, including women’s apparel.

While the kids enjoy the games, parents can purchase fresh food in the artisan market, or even enjoy free golf lessons in the PING Swing Zone. The PGA professionals on site include members of the ISPS Academy programme, who are specially trained in teaching those with disabilities, so the facilities are open to all.
