SPONSOR INVITATIONS ANNOUNCED AS 2025 ISPS HANDA WOMEN’S SCOTTISH OPEN WELCOMES RISING TALENT

Hannah Darling

Sponsor invitations for the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open have been confirmed, with rising Scottish Star Hannah Darling set to make her professional debut on home soil at Dundonald Links, July 24-27. Darling is one of four recipients of sponsor invitations, along with Lorna McClymont, Kylie Henry and Pannarat Thanapolboonyaras.

Darling enters the professional ranks with a decorated amateur career. Currently ranked No.20 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, and having previously reached a high of No.11, she was a key member of the Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup teams in 2021, 2022, and the victorious 2024 side. Just last week, she played a key role in helping the GB&I team secure victory at the 2025 Valigano Trophy in the Netherlands. The 21-year-old also represented Europe in the 2019 Junior Solheim Cup. At just 13, Darling became the youngest-ever winner of the Scottish Girls’ Amateur Championship and successfully defended the title the following year.

Darling said: “I’m really excited to be making my professional debut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. Starting this next chapter of my career at home, in front of a Scottish crowd and at a fantastic venue like Dundonald Links, means so much to me. I’ve had some amazing experiences as an amateur, but this is the moment I’ve been working towards for a long time. I cannot thank ISPS Handa enough for giving me the opportunity to play this week.”

Also making her debut in her home open, is Dumbarton’s Lorna McClymont, currently the top-ranked Scot on the Ladies European Tour, sitting at 69th in the season standings. The 24-year-old turned professional last year after successfully graduating from LET Q-School and has made a strong impression in her rookie season, highlighted by an 8th-place finish at the Tenerife Women’s Open, where she also recorded her first professional hole-in-one.

Also receiving an invitation is seasoned LET professional Kylie Henry. The Glasgow-native will be making her 14th appearance at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. A two-time LET winner, Henry’s best finish at the event came in 2012, when she tied for 10th.

The final sponsor invitation has been awarded to Thai golfer Pannarat Thanapolboonyaras, who competes primarily on the Japan LPGA Tour (JLPGA). Known on tour as P Saipan, she has four professional victories to her name. In 2025, she recorded a T20 finish at the Mitsubishi Electric Automation Women’s Open and now returns to the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open for the first time since 2022. Her best finish at the event came in 2018, when she placed T35.

Dr Haruhisa Handa, ISPS Founder and Chairman, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome these standout players to this year’s ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. It’s an honour to support a tournament that reflects our belief in the power of sport to inspire, unite, and create meaningful opportunities. Events like this open doors for rising talent to showcase their abilities on a global stage.”

Rob Dickson, Director of Industry and Events at Visit Scotland, commented, “Scotland is proud to support the next generation of golfing talent to take part in this world-class event. We look forward to an outstanding championship at Dundonald Links and to showcasing Scotland’s world-class venues and warm hospitality to players and fans alike.”

The 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open marks the second year with ISPS HANDA as title sponsor and will be held at Dundonald Links for the fourth consecutive year. The tournament returned to this venue in 2022 after a multi-million pound makeover by owners Darwin Escapes to transform the club into one of the UK’s finest golf resorts. It was also previously held there in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Scottish Government and VisitScotland remain long-standing supporters of women’s golf, with a strong commitment to the 2025 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.
