Emma Spitz finished joint top of the leaderboard at last week’s Pre-Qualifier – Europe at La Manga Club in Spain.
The Austrian produced rounds of 69, 70, 72 and 73 on the North and South Courses to finish the tournament on four-under-par and book her place in this week’s Final Qualifier.
And having ended the Pre-Qualifier at the top of the leaderboard, Spitz feels her confidence is growing and hopes to continue the momentum.
“I think playing the Pre-Qualifier, every day you see the course a little bit more and learn more spots of where to hit it to which is nice,” she said.
“You get more used to the greens and it’s also nice for the confidence because my game has not been exactly where I’ve wanted it the last few weeks.
“Playing well here is a good confidence booster. If I play like this again next week, I’ll be happy with my performance.”
Spitz, who attended UCLA, turned professional at the end of the summer and has played in several LET events across the year.
The 22-year-old finished T6 at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open and T32 at the Amundi German Masters while still an amateur.
After turning pro, Spitz played in five further LET tournaments recording three top-10 finishes in Sweden, Finland and Switzerland.
And having been around the LET for the past few months, the Austrian player is hoping to secure her spot on next year’s Tour this week.
She explained: “It’s been really fun this year. I have really enjoyed it. I didn’t know what to expect when I first came over here.
“It’s been super nice to play on the LET a few times this season and the girls they really take you in. It was nice that I had Christine [Wolf] who took me in, even though I didn’t know her that well. It’s been super nice, and I really hope that I can be here next year.”
