Special event for women and girls at LET HQ

The Ladies European Tour is backing England Golf’s call to make June ‘Women’s Golf Month’ and attract more females into the game.

On the eve of the US Women’s Open Sectional qualifier, the LET will host a special golf event for women and girls at the Tour’s headquarters, Buckinghamshire Golf Club, in Denham, near London.

Free golf coaching with PGA professionals will be on offer on Sunday 4th June, from 2-4pm, along with ‘have-a-go’ activities. From 4-5pm, there will be a free short game masterclass with Daniel Grieve, who coaches LET players Inci Mehmet, Lauren Taylor and Charley Hull.

Sunday 4th June is the official Practice Day for the Sectional Qualifying event, which means there will also be the chance to meet the professional players and watch them in action on the beautiful, championship course.

The following day, on Monday 5th June, a field of 78 players will compete over 36 holes at the same venue for a place in the US Women’s Open conducted by the USGA.

The third women’s Major of 2017 will take place on July 10-16 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The players aiming to qualify include LET tournament winners Minea Blomqvist, Carly Booth, Hannah Burke, Holly Clyburn, Valentine Derrey, Lydia Hall, Caroline Hedwall, Kylie Henry, Felicity Johnson, Camilla Lennarth, Nanna Koerstz Madsen, Emily Kristine Pedersen and Klara Spilkova: the recent winner of the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.
