The Ladies European Tour (LET) is well into its European swing and is ready to return to Links Golf with this week’s ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.
It is the ninth edition of the 72-hole tournament, which is co-sanctioned by both the LET and the LPGA Tour.
Ahead of the event starting on Thursday, here are a few storylines to keep an eye on.
Former champions in the field
There are four past champions of the tournament teeing it up again this week with Lauren Coughlin (2024), Ayaka Furue (2022), Ariya Jutanugarn (2018) and Mi Hyang Lee (2017) all in the field.
Defending champion Coughlin secured a four-stroke victory at Dundonald Links in 2024 defeating Germany’s Esther Henseleit to win her second LPGA Tour title in two starts.
AIGWO places at stake
There is a lot to play for this week in Scotland with the final Major of the year – the AIG Women’s Open – taking place at Royal Porthcawl next week.
Three spots are available for the leading golfers, who make the cut, and are not already exempt into the tournament. With Final Qualifying happening on Monday, LET and LPGA players will be hoping to play their way into the final Major of the year at Dundonald.
Major champions aplenty
A total of 15 Major winners are in the field for the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, who have a combined 23 titles between them.
Three major champions from the 2025 season are in attendance with U.S. Women’s Open winner Maja Stark of Sweden alongside Australian duo Minjee Lee and Grace Kim, who won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the Amundi Evian Championship, respectively.

Elevated points for LET players
There is a chance for LET players to earn more points in the Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year competitions this week with an elevated points structure.
Due to the event being co-sanctioned with the LPGA Tour, the winner – if they are an LET member – will received 750 points compared to the usual 500 at a standard LET tournament.
This gives the LET members in the field an opportunity to earn some vital points in the rankings heading into the second half of the season.
Home representatives
Five Scottish players will be teeing it up on home soil this week hoping to put on a show for the home fans at Dundonald Links.
Former PING Junior Solheim Cup player Hannah Darling, LET rookie Lorna Mcclymont and two-time LET winner Kylie Henry all received invitations for this week.
Meanwhile, they are also joined by Solheim Cup winner Gemme Dryburgh and LET member Kelsey Macdonald.
Professional debuts for Woad and Darling
Two players teeing it up as professionals this week with Scotland’s Hannah Darling and England’s Lottie Woad both leaving the amateur ranks.
Darling had a decorated amateur career when at 13, she became the youngest-ever winner of the Scottish Girls’ Amateur Championship and successfully defended the title the following year.
England’s Woad, the former world number one amateur, will also make her professional debut this week having won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open a few weeks ago and earned her LPGA Tour card with a T3 finish at the Amundi Evian Championship.
