Singled out!

(Edina, Minnesota, September 22 2002) The USA showed incredible fighting spirit on the final day singles matches as they won The Solheim Cup at Interlachen GC by 15½ to 12½.

Trailing 9-7 overnight after a 4-0 drubbing in the afternoon fourballs on Saturday, the Americans had a monumental task at hand, needing seven and a half points from 12 matches to win back the trophy, with Europe requiring just five points to retain and the extra half point to win outright for the first time away from home.
