Hyo Joo Kim returns to home soil next month to defend her title at Golf Saudi’s Aramco Korea Championship, from 9-11 May at New Korea Country Club.
The South Korean star delivered one of the standout performances of the year when she claimed a three-shot victory at last year’s tournament – then staged under the Aramco Team Series banner – finishing ahead of England’s Charley Hull.
Now a winner again in 2025 after a dramatic playoff triumph at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass in Arizona, Kim arrives in Seoul with momentum and the opportunity to go back-to-back.
“I’m thrilled to be back playing in front of Korean fans again,” said Kim. “Winning last year was incredibly special for me, and I’m excited to compete once more in this unique tournament format. The atmosphere in Seoul is always amazing, and I hope to give my fans something to cheer about again.”
The Aramco Korea Championship is part of the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the PIF-backed International Series and features a distinctive three-day format. The first two days see 26 four-player professional teams compete for a $500,000 team prize, before the final day crowns the individual champion, who will take home the largest share of the $1.5 million prize fund – one of the most lucrative on the LET calendar.
Organised by Golf Saudi, the event continues to drive the global growth of women’s golf. By staging world-class tournaments in golf-strong nations like South Korea, Golf Saudi is not only expanding the reach of the sport but also inspiring local communities and creating more opportunities for the women’s game to thrive.
With Kim returning to defend her crown, anticipation is building for a memorable week at the Aramco Korea Championship.
