Round 3: Moving Day at Queanbeyan

The third round of the Women’s NSW Open presented by Worrells is under way at Queanbeyan.

Iceland’s Valdis Jonsdottir began the day two strokes ahead of Germany’s Karolin Lampert, with defending champ Meghan MacLaren and Sweden’s Lynn Carlsson a shot away in third.

England’s Meghan MacLaren, the 2018 champion last year at Coffs Harbour, pulled a stroke clear of the chasing pack led by Christine Wolf after six holes, but Wolf and then Carlsson joined her in a share of the lead as they hit the turn at nine-under.

South Africa’s Lejan Lewthwaite was an early mover, getting to two-under par after seven holes, while India’s Diksha Dagar moved into a tie for fifth place with an eagle on the par five 3rd hole.

The conditions are warm, still and overcast, meaning nearly ideal for scoring.

All up, 58 players including four amateurs made the cut which fell at three over par.

If you have a few hours spare, then why not head out to Queanbeyan Golf Club and witness some of the sports finest female athletes go head-to-head for the State’s most prestigious women’s Golf Championship.

Entry is free.
