Another week of the 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) season is complete, and it was another good week for our rookies on Tour.
Royal Beroun Golf Club hosted the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open once again and India’s Diksha Dagar produced a dominant performance to seal her second LET title.
There were 27 rookies in action in Czechia and one of them set the pace on the first day with Ana Dawson from the Isle of Man at the top of the leaderboard.
The 22-year-old had quite the scorecard with two eagles, four birdies, one bogey and a triple bogey for a round of four-under 68.
While eventual winner Dagar assumed control on day two it was rookie Sara Kouskova who had an excellent second day.
The Czech star, who won the LET Access Series Order of Merit in 2022, fired a round of 66 (-6) to propel herself into the top 10 on three-under-par alongside fellow rookie Alexandra Försterling of Germany.
And at the end of the second round, there were 11 rookies who had made the cut and would play on the final day at Beroun.
Joining Kouskova, Försterling and Dawson, the rookies who made it through were Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab, New Zealand pair Wenyung Keh and Momoka Kobori, Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley, Italy’s Alessandra Fanali, Sweden’s Sara Kjellker, Wales’ Lea Anne Branwell and Switzerland’s Elena Colombo.
On to round three and it was Cheenglab who stole the show on Sunday with a stunning bogey-free round of 64 (-8) which included an eagle on the 18th to climb up the leaderboard.
The Thai player ended the tournament as rookie of the week in outright second place on nine-under-par, which is her best finish yet on the LET.
As a result of that amazing final day, Cheenglab has risen to the top in the Rookie of the Year standings and has 584.30 points from 11 events.
Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt is just behind in second place with 575.28 points, while Thailand’s April Angurasaranee sits in third with 518.83 points.
Next up for our rookies is a trip to Finland for the Ladies Open by Pickala Rock Resort which takes place June 29 – July 1.
