Rookie Orientation Days a Great Success

The Ladies European Tour Members who attended the Rookie Orientation Days for 2017 are all set for the best possible start to their careers as professional golfers after attending a comprehensive three-day introduction to the Tour at Dénia La Sella Golf Resort in Spain.

Despite the mixed weather, 100 per cent of those who attended said that they now feel better informed having attended the days.

“I feel much more prepared for the season now, so it was truly helpful. I am aware of how much work you do to help us and I couldn’t be more grateful. In addition, I am really happy I got to know you and the other rookies on the orientation: that will help me a lot,” said one of the attendees.

Another Rookie commented: “I really do believe that it has been a crucial part of our development so early on in our careers as an individual, but also as a team. It has been great to meet the other girls in the same position as each other but also having the opportunity to get to know the staff better too. It is obvious that we are all surrounded by friendly and determined people which only puts a smile on my face. It also makes me very proud to know that I am part of it.”

The topics covered included an introduction to the LET’s vision and structure, including the Players’ Council; Rules and regulation for players including event entry and withdrawal policies; how to use the members’ area of the website; player services; players’ responsibilities; the importance of Pro-Ams and Promoter relations; Development activity and members’ education programmes; LET marketing activity including TV coverage and event reporting; financial matters; travel advice and additional useful information.

Once again, the Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, which is one of the most luxurious hotels in Alicante with excellent sport and relaxation facilities, proved to be an ideal location for the activities.
