ROLEX RANKINGS: THE BIGGEST MOVERS OF 2024

Another enthralling season is now in the history books on the Ladies European Tour (LET), with several stars making incredible moves in the Rolex World Golf Rankings throughout the year.

The first-ever comprehensive world rankings system for women’s golf, the official Rolex Rankings are issued every Monday following the completion of the previous week’s tournaments around the world.

From recently turned pros to injury rebounders, here are the LET stars who made the biggest moves in the Rolex Rankings this year…

1. Fatima Fernandez Cano: +866 (World No 167)

What a year it has been for Spain’s Fatima Fernandez Cano. The 29-year-old considered early retirement just over a year ago due to ongoing pain in her arm. After finally getting to the root of the problem and having surgery, Fernandez Cano missed the majority of 2023 before returning to LET Q-School last December to reclaim full playing rights.

Since then, her rebound season has been nothing short of remarkable. Playing across both the Epson Tour and LET, Fernandez Cano would graduate to the LPGA with one victory on its feeder circuit to soar up the Rolex Rankings – rising an unbelievable 866 spots since the start of the year.

On the LET, the Spaniard recorded three top five finishes ending the season on a high in Riyadh where she carded the low round of the season 62 (-10).

2. Helen Briem: +779 (World No 105)

Recipient of the LET’s ‘Rising Star’ award for 2024, German teenager Helen Briem had a historic 2024 winning four times on the LET Access Series (LETAS) before earning her full LET card when she won the La Sella Open in September.

Since the beginning of the year, Briem’s results across both tours read T11, 2, 1, 1, 1, T4, 1, 1, T28, T4 and 4. In the process, the former World No 1 amateur and PING Junior Solheim Cup star has soared 779 spots in the Rolex Rankings and looks set to cruise inside the World’s Top 100 in 2025.

3. Shannon Tan: +556 (World No 144)

From one historic season to another, Shannon Tan burst onto the professional scene back in February when she won on her LET pro-debut at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, becoming Singapore’s first winner on the circuit.

Since then it has been a year of consistency for Tan as she rose up the Rolex Rankings, made her Major and Olympic debuts, and finished sixth in the LET Order of Merit. Still aged just 20-years-old, expect to see the talented Singaporean make more strides in 2025.

4. Annabell Fuller: +525 (World No 391)

Like Tan, Annabell Fuller was a rookie in 2024 and enjoyed a solid debut season on the LET. After a hugely successful amateur career – one which saw her star for the Florida Gators and win the Amateur Championship in 2020 – Fuller made 16 out of 22 cuts on the LET this year finishing as the ninth best rookie.

The Englishwoman rose 525 spots in the Rolex Rankings in the process but will be looking to kick on and really make a name for herself in the professional ranks next season.

5. Pranavi Urs: +500 (World No 212)

Another star who graduated from LET Q-School back in December, Pranavi Urs has proven to be India’s next big female talent following in the footsteps of Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar.

The 21-year-old made a huge jump in the Rolex Rankings this year thanks to five top five finishes on the LET. She ended the year on a high placing third at the Open de España to jump over 50 spots to a career high World No 212.

6. Lauren Walsh: +433 (World No 225)

Sticking with the rookies, Lauren Walsh also made an immediate impact on the LET registering three top five finishes in 2024 to soar up the Rolex Rankings.

The Irishwoman competed in 21 events eventually placing 18th in the Order of Merit. Expect big things from the 24-year-old next season.

7. Nataliya Guseva: +417 (World No 78)

Competing as a rookie across both the LPGA and LET in 2024, Nataliya Guseva – delightfully nicknamed ‘The Goose’ – played anything like a first year graduate this year storming into the World’s Top 100 with five top-10 finishes on the LPGA.

She also recorded a T3 finish on the LET at the season-opening Magical Kenya Ladies Open in February.

8. Marta Martin: +404 (World No 204)

What a breakthrough season 2024 proved to be for Spain’s Marta Martin. After playing on the LET Access Series (LETAS) in 2023 – regaining her LET playing rights at Q-School in December – the popular figure earned her maiden victory in June at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

Making her Major debut shortly after, Martin made big moves in the Rolex Rankings after starting the year outside the World’s Top 600. She ended the season 16th in the Order of Merit with three top-10s.

9. Chiara Tamburlini: +370 (World No 71)

Our highest ranked player on the list, 2024 was truly the year of Chiara Tamburlini as the rookie won three times en route to claiming the Order of Merit, Players’ Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year triple.

She became Switzerland’s first Order of Merit in the process, proving herself to be one of Europe’s very best players.

10. Luna Sobron Galmes: +269 (World No 263)

Like her compatriot Fernandez Cano, Luna Sobron Galmes‘s 2023 with plagued with injury causing the Mallorcan to miss most of the season and plummet in the Rolex Rankings.

But what a comeback story its been for Sobron Galmes – the Spaniard regaining her LET status at Q-School before enjoying a highly consistent season which included three top-10s and a 22nd placed finish in the Order of Merit.
