RHODES WINS 2025 LET ROOKIE OF THE YEAR TITLE

Mimi Rhodes is the 2025 ‘LET Rookie of the Year’ after an impressive first year on Tour and becomes the eighth winner of the prestigious title from England.

With one event remaining on the Ladies European Tour (LET) season, the English star has accumulated 2,192.48 points from 21 events and has an unassailable lead in the season-long competition.

After securing her card at 2024 Lalla Aicha Q-School, Rhodes won in just her fourth start of the season at the Ford Women’s NSW Open where she fired a 62 (-9) in the second round and won by two strokes at Wollongong Golf Club.

In the next event on the schedule, the 23-year-old picked up where she left off to win the Joburg Ladies Open and join an elite group of players who have secured back-to-back victories on the LET.

Just over a month later and Rhodes was back in the winner’s circle once again as she lifted the trophy at the Dutch Ladies Open to clinch three victories in four starts in the space of two months.

Since then, the Curtis Cup winner has continued her consistent form recording her best-ever Major finish with T19 at the AIG Women’s Open alongside two top-10 and five top-15 finishes and captaining her Team to victory at the Aramco China Championship.

Rhodes follows in the footsteps of Charley Hull (2013), Mel Reid (2008), Kirsty Taylor (2002), Elaine Ratcliffe (1999), Trish Johnson (1987), Laura Davies (1985), and Kitrina Douglas (1984) as English winners of the title.

“My rookie season has been very unexpected honestly – it’s been a good year,” said Rhodes. “It started off really well, so I’ve just been trying to keep playing solid golf and keep it going.

“I had a good finish at the AIG Women’s Open which brought me back up and my game’s been really solid since then. I have just been waiting for the right time for everything to come together.

“My first win was really special because getting it across the line is always difficult. I love playing in the team event, so it was also really nice to get a second one this week.”

Rhodes is second in the Order of Merit with one event of the LET season remaining, and sits 219.26 points behind leader Shannon Tan of Singapore.

If the English star were to overtake Tan at the top of the rankings in Spain, Rhodes would become the eighth player to win both titles in the same season.

She added: “Winning the LET Order of Merit has been my number one goal since I got to the top of it, so I’m going to put up a big fight in the last event and hopefully, it will be enough. If not, I’ll be happy either way.”

The LET season concludes with the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho which takes place at Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf from 27-30 November.
