RACE TO EVIAN REACHES CLIMAX IN CZECH

It is a massive week for several Ladies European Tour (LET) stars this week as the qualification period for The Amundi Evian Championship reaches its conclusion.

The top-seven players, not already qualified, from the top-20 of this season’s LET Order of Merit will earn a spot in the fourth Major of the year at Evian Resort in France.

This means there is plenty on the line at this week’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open – the final event before the commitment deadline ends on June 24 – with a host of players still in with a chance of achieving qualification.

Within the current top-seven, both Chiara Tamburlini from Switzerland and Shannon Tan from Singapore have already qualified thanks to their top-seven finishes in last year’s Order of Merit rankings.

The two next best-placed players in the standings will therefore qualify for The Amundi Evian Championship as it stands, with last week’s winner Darcey Harry (757.40 points) from Wales and France’s Perrine Delacour (730.75 points) occupying those spots.

Both champions from 2025 are present in the Czech Republic, but it is extremely tight as we pan down the Order of Merit with just 77.17 points separating Harry in eighth and South Africa’s Casandra Alexander (680.23 points) in 13th.

A total of 500 OOM points are on offer to this week’s winner at Royal Beroun, meaning mathematically, anyone as far down as Patricia Isabel Schmidt in 38th (258.02 points) are still in with a shot of qualifying. Finishing inside the top-10 would guarantee at least 80 OOM points.

Competing this week alongside Alexander and in with a great chance of catching Harry and Delacour are India’s Diksha Dagar (730.00 points) and Ireland’s Lauren Walsh (730.75 points).

Rookies Brianna Navarrosa from the USA (529.28 points) and Kajsa Arwefjall from Sweden (527.50 points) are also in the mix, with Italy’s Alessandra Fanali (522.09 points) and England’s Annabell Fuller (511.47 points) rounding out the top-20.

Despite winning the Jabra Ladies Open – a qualification event for The Amundi Evian Championship – Czechia’s Sara Kouskova currently sits second in the 2025 Order of Merit and will instead earn a spot in the field through the top-seven criteria. Instead, the next-placed finisher from the Jabra Ladies Open (not already qualified), Morocco’s Maha Haddioui, will qualify thanks to her performance in that tournament.

The Amundi Evian Championship takes place at Evian Resort between 10-13 July. This week’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open gets underway on Friday 20 June with the winner being crowned on Sunday 22 June.
