The annual end of season Ladies European Tour (LET) awards took place last Sunday following the conclusion of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España in Malaga.
An enjoyable evening commenced as members and staff were able to celebrate another successful year which featured over 30 events across five different continents.
Swiss star Chiara Tamburlini was the big winner of the night as she capped off a magnificent debut season by earning Players’ Player of the Year.
The recently turned 25-year-old was the unanimous choice among her peers having claimed three victories, two Aramco Team Series team wins, the Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year accolades.
In the process, Tamburlini became only the fourth LET player in history to win the prestigious hat-trick of awards, joining Carlota Ciganda (2012), Jeeno Thitikul (2021) and Linn Grant (2022) in the elite circle.
“I want to say thank you to my fellow LET members for voting me as Players’ Player of the Year”, she said via video message during the awards evening. “Ever since I started in Kenya, everybody has been so incredibly welcoming, and I have enjoyed every minute on the golf course having such incredible people around me.
“I feel I’ve made so many incredible friends this year and I can’t wait until next year. I’m very proud to have this trophy with me.”
Elsewhere, German teenager Helen Briem was honoured with the ‘Rising Star’ award thanks to her historic debut year as a professional.
The former World No 1 amateur won four times on the LET Access Series (including three times in a row back in the Spring) to all but secure her LET card for 2025 before cashing in on this privilege early when she won the La Sella Open on the main tour in September.
It was then a fantastic evening for England’s Alice Hewson – winner of this year’s VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.
After two weeks of voting on social media, her slam dunk eagle from the bunker in Switzerland was awarded LET Shot of the Year presented by Nikon.
On top of that, Hewson’s caddie, Rory Henderson, was voted Caddie of the Year by the caddies’ association.
Finally, France’s Nastasia Nadaud earned the accolade for ‘Clutch Putt of the Year’ thanks to her playoff heroics at the Aramco Team Series – London in July. The 20-year-old made three excellent putts under pressure in the playoff to defeat Solheim Cup star Georgia Hall and earn her team the victory at Centurion.
