July Player of the Month shortlist

Lottie Woad (England)

Wins: 2

Top-10s: 2

July 2025 will be a month Lottie Woad won’t forget for a long time. The 21-year-old secured her maiden LET title in Ireland while still an amateur, before missing out on the playoff at The Amundi Evian Championship by just one stroke one week later. Woad teed it up in Scotland as a professional and secured a three-stroke victory on her professional debut before rounding out the month with a top-10 finish at the final Major of the year – the AIG Women’s Open.

Expert opinion: “Lottie Woad has arrived. July could not have gone better for the 21-year-old and she’s just getting started. First, she stunned the field winning the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, then she followed it up T3 at The Amundi Evian Championship all while still an amateur. On her professional debut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, she collected her first pro check and the trophy, and last week recorded another top-10 at the AIG Women’s Open. July will go down in the history books.”

Leona Maguire (Ireland)

Top 10s: 1

Leona Maguire began the month competing in front of her home crowd in Ireland and although the result wasn’t what she was looking for, she headed to the fourth Major of the year in good form. The Irishwoman got off to an excellent start opening with a 65 which included a hole-in-one and she ended the week in a share of seventh place at Evian Resort Golf Club. Maguire’s form continued on Dundonald Links in Scotland where she finished in T16.

Expert opinion: “Leona lit up the Amundi Evian Championship with a memorable hole-in-one. A moment that helped propel her to a seventh-place finish – her best result of the season and a standout performance in the European major. The 30-year-old kept the momentum going with a top-20 finish at the ISPS HAND Women’s Scottish Open showing signs of form for the Irish star.”

Jeeno Thitikul (Thailand)

Top-10s: 1

Jeeno Thitikul came close to securing her maiden Major title at this year’s Amundi Evian Championship in France. The Thai star produced rounds of 68-68-67-67 to finish alongside Australia’s Grace Kim but came up short as the Aussie rolled in her eagle putt on the second playoff hole. The 22-year-old had another consistent showing at the final Major of the year with a T30 finish to move back to the top of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Expert opinion: “That first Major title may still elude Jeeno Thitikul, but she is back at the summit of the game as the world number one ending Nelly Korda’s 71 weeks at the top of the rankings. July was almost the ultimate month as walking to the 72nd hole at the Amundi Evian Championship, Jeeno was odds-on to make her Major breakthrough, but the finish of Grace Kim means the wait goes on. However, she reacted with a smile on her face and her time will surely come.”

Charley Hull (England)

Top-10s: 2

Charley Hull had a consistent July which started with a fourth place finish at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House. The English star had to withdraw from the Amundi Evian Championship due to needing medical attention but returned to the fairways in Scotland where she produced a T21 result. At the final Major of the year, Hull thrilled the home crowd with rounds of 66-69 over the weekend at the AIG Women’s Open to end the week in T2.

Expert opinion: “You can almost guarantee Charley Hull is never far from the headlines and that was certainly the same for July. The Solheim star picked up a top-5 finish in Ireland before needing to withdraw from the Amundi Evian Championship after fainting twice. Returning to Scotland, just 80% fit she still finished top-25 and it all culminated in a weekend Charley charge at the AIG Women’s Open that saw her finish second at a Major for the fourth time.”
