PEDERSEN FEELING MORE AT HOME AHEAD OF ARAMCO TEAM SERIES – LONDON

Emily Kristine Pedersen

Emily Kristine Pedersen is excited to be back in Europe and playing in the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – London.

There will be two competitions happening side-by-side with the Team competition being played over 36-holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting.

While the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.

The five-time LET winner has played in many of the Aramco Team Series events winning both the Individual and Team competitions in Jeddah and is looking forward to this week.

“I’m a big fan of team golf,” she said. “It’s different and it’s always good to come back to Europe. Since day one it’s been a boost to the Tour, it’s something new and different. I think it’s what makes it fun.

“I think it’s a great golf course. Aramco Team Series events are set up like major championships. I’m striking the ball well. I remember the last time I didn’t hit a lot of fairways.

“It’s definitely an advantage to me off the tee here, it was quite tough for the amateurs last year. Patience is definitely going to be key. It’s a great golf course and obviously, you need to have some putts as well to win a tournament but definitely off the tee I think it’s important.”

Being based in Florida and playing a lot of her golf in the U.S., the Danish star is happy to be back on European soil and feeling more at home.

She continued: “It’s great. I’m so excited to be here. I’m going to be in Europe pretty much until after AIG Women’s Open. I have one week where I go back to Canada but it’s so nice to be in Europe and I have missed a lot.

“Living in Florida means it’s even rarer that I get to go home. I’ve been struggling a little bit the last couple months so it’s just it’s just nice to feel a little bit more at home.”

Having been on the LET since 2015, Pedersen enjoys coming back to play in these events to see some friends.

Plus over the nine years, the Solheim Cup star has seen the level of golf increase with the standard getting better and better.

She added: “It’s going to be weather dependent. There are going to be a lot of good players and I feel like the level on LET is getting better every year.

“I think you just have to get better and better and it’s working, the scores are lower and lower. I compare the LET to a lot of events that I’ve played before, and I can just see every year the level goes up.”

Pedersen will tee it up at 7.51 am (local time) alongside France’s Celine Herbin, Spain’s Paz Marfa Sans and amateur Ricardo Scavazza.
