Some of the Olympic athletes from Rio 2016 gathered at the welcome reception ahead of the Hero Women’s Indian Open taking place on the Gary Player Course at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon this week.

Ashok, who is an 18-year-old rookie professional, has featured in the Hero Women’s Indian Open each year since 2012, when she finished tied 8th as a 14-year-old. Last year in her final shot as an amateur, she tied for 13th on the newly redesigned Gary Player Course.
Nocera is no stranger to India, having won the 2007 EMAAR-MGF Masters in Bangalore and the 2014 Hero Women’s Indian Open at Delhi Golf Club.
Haddioui, Spilkova and Wikstrom are also ‘Indophiles’ making their fifth appearances in the Hero Women’s Indian Open, with respective best finishes of 52nd in 2014, 11th in 2013 and eighth in 2015. Meanwhile Leurquin, Tamminen and Wolf are all playing in the tournament for the third time and Lovelady is making her second straight appearance in the event.
