NORRMAN AND SAGSTRÖM EXCITED FOR VOLVO CAR SCANDINAVIAN MIXED HOMECOMING

Vincent Norrman and Madelene Sagström are the latest Swedish stars confirmed to tee it up on home soil at next month’s innovative Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, from June 6-9.

The tournament, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour, features a field of 78 men and 78 women competing on the same course for one prize fund and one trophy, with Norrman and Sagström joining a host of fellow Scandinavians in the field at Vasatorps Golfklubb.

Two-time DP World Tour winner Norrman will return to the event for the first time since 2021, when he finished in a share of 14th at Vallda Golf & Country Club, with Sagström competing in the tournament for the second year in a row after finishing joint 12th last season.

“I’m really excited to have had the opportunity to work this event into my schedule,” said Norrman. “Being based in the United States I don’t get the opportunity to come back as often as I’d like, so I’m looking forward to playing in front of the home crowds again.

“It’s a really interesting tournament and there has been some Swedish success in the past. I’d love to add my name to that list and pick up another win.”

Three-time Solheim Cup star Sagström added: “I had a great experience in Sweden at last year’s event. The atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve experienced at a golf tournament and it’s great to have the opportunity to compete against the guys from the DP World Tour.

“We’ve shown over the last few years that we are more than capable of going head-to-head with them and I think we’re all looking forward to having another opportunity to do so in a few weeks’ time.”

The pair will join compatriots Alexandor Björk, Linn Grant, who made history in 2022 when she claimed the title, Johanna Gustavsson, Caroline Hedwall, Jesper Svensson and Sebastian Söderberg in Helsingborg.

Official World Ranking points will be on offer for both Tours, as well as Race to Dubai points for the men and Order of Merit and Solheim Cup points for the women.
