Kim Metraux returns to the Dutch Ladies Open this week as part of the 132-player field, hoping to go one better than last year’s near victory.
Last year she led for much of the 2024 tournament before a challenging back nine on the final day at Hilversumsche, which saw her finish runner-up.
This time, she’s hoping to turn that experience into victory as the 2025 edition heads to a new venue: Goyer Golf & Country Club in Eemnes, which is hosting the event for the first time.
The Swiss arrives fresh from the Aramco Korea Championship, flying in last night to tee it up in the first European event of the 2025 LET season.
With her father on the bag this week and confidence building she’s feeling optimistic.
“It’s nice to be back in the Netherlands, obviously lots of fond memories from last year. Different course so a little bit of a fresh start this year – we’ll see,” said the Swiss. “I haven’t played yet [on my practice round], so we’ll see how it plays, but really excited for this week. We’ve had our fair share of rain this season so hopefully this good weather stays.”
Reflecting on her close call last year, Metraux added: “I had such a big lead heading into the final round as the only one at the top, but it didn’t quite go my way. Still, it was a huge learning experience, and I’m hoping I can use that to my advantage if I’m in a similar position this week.”
Talking about the season so far, Metraux said: “It’s been alright, been a bit up and down but really pleased with my T5 finish at the Ford Women’s NSW Open in Australia.”
Since turning professional in 2018, the 29-year-old has made several appearances in the Netherlands, and continues to enjoy her time here. “It’s always nice to be back here, and I’ve always had good experiences here. My Dad and I actually went to the F1 exhibition yesterday in the city which was fun and it was a good way to spend my rest day away from golf.”
Now, with fond memories and valuable experience behind her, Metraux is ready to challenge once more.
The Swiss will be playing round one at 9:17am local time on Friday, alongside Thailand’s April Angurasaranee and Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom.
Metraux, who is the sister of Morgane Metraux and also a member of the LET, joined the LET Golf Podcast at the start of the 2025 season.
