Mathilde is all Claisse

European PING Junior Solheim Cup team member Mathilde Claisse is making the most of her opportunity to play in a Ladies European Tour event for the first time at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.

The 16-year-old from Racing Club de France in Paris fired rounds of 67 and 68 at Golf de Chantaco and then opened with two birdies in the third round on Saturday evening to get onto the leader board.

Before teeing off on Sunday morning, she said: “It’s really exciting to be here playing in an LET event and it’s a new world for me. I’m really focused on what I have to do in my final round and at the end of the tournament I will assess the result.

“Playing in the PING Junior Solheim Cup has given me more confidence in my game and it has helped me to deal with playing in front of a large audience in a professional event. It was also fantastic to be able to spend time with the Solheim Cup players in Iowa, from whom I also gained a lot of valuable advice.”

Mathilde is part of the French National Team, coached by National Team Coach Mickael Maheo, and she plans to attend South Carolina University from 2019, after completing her high school studies in France.
