A blockbuster summer of women’s golf will continue on the Central Coast, with Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club confirmed to host the 2026 Australian Women’s Classic from 5–8 March.
With €350,000 (approx. AUD $600,000)in prize money and co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) and WPGA Tour of Australasia, the event promises elite international competition.
Following the Ford Women’s NSW Open at Wollongong Golf Club just a week earlier, the Australian Women’s Classic gives fans the rare opportunity to witness back-to-back marquee tournaments, showcasing the very best of the women’s game.
Set against the backdrop of Tuggerah Lake and the Pacific Ocean, Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club offers a spectacular setting that’s sure to excite players and spectators alike. After successfully hosting the 2024 Women’s NSW Open, it’s set to welcome another world-class field in 2026.
Golf NSW Chief Executive Officer Stuart Fraser said the event marks another important step in strengthening the women’s game in Australia.
“The Australian Women’s Classic at Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club is a premier event at an exceptional venue,” Mr Fraser said
“Following directly after the Ford Women’s NSW Open, it provides an incredible opportunity for fans to see elite women’s golf up close, while continuing to inspire the next generation of players across New South Wales.”
“The Australian Women’s Classic has become a regular fixture on the WPGA Tour of Australasia schedule and both our overseas and local players love teeing it up in the event each year,” CEO of the WPGA Tour of Australasia Karen Lunn said.
“We’ve already experienced how tremendous a host venue Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club is, and we are thrilled to partner again with Golf NSW and the Ladies European Tour to deliver another exciting week of competition for both players and fans.”

The Australian Women’s Classic will once again deliver significant benefits to the region, drawing players, officials, and fans to the Central Coast and boosting local tourism and hospitality industries.
For those unable to attend in person, the final two rounds of the Australian Women’s Classic will be broadcast live, showcasing Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club and New South Wales to a global audience.
Minister for Sport Steve Kamper, who also leads the tourism portfolio, said the event would showcase the best of women’s golf, while boosting the area’s visitor economy and inspiring the next generation.

The Venue: After six successful years at Bonville Golf Resort and most recently staged at Coffs Harbour Golf Club in 2025, the Australian Women’s Classic will break new ground at Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club. The championship course, set between the Pacific Ocean and Tuggerah Lake on the Central Coast, is renowned for its spectacular coastal backdrop and testing layout.
History: Since its inception, the Classic has grown into one of the most significant tournaments on the WPGA Tour calendar. It has seen a host of international winners and breakthrough moments, including Celine Boutier (2018), Marianne Skarpnord (2019), and Steph Kyriacou’s breakout victory in 2020. England’s Meghan MacLaren triumphed in 2022, while Belgium’s Manon De Roey etched her name into history as champion in 2025 at Coffs Harbour.
