MAGENTA SHORES THE SETTING FOR AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S CLASSIC

Magenta Shores

With the Ladies European Tour (LET)’s Aussie swing now underway next up it’s a trip to Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club for the Australian Women’s Classic.

A field of 132 players will tee up in the third event of the LET’s 2026 global schedule – a number divided into 80 LET players, 30 WPGA players and 22 invites. This figure also features 35 nationalities, 31 Australians, 12 rookies and 25 LET winners.

This year’s 72-hole tournament is the second of four co-sanctioned events with the WPGA of Australasia and takes place between March 5-8. A purse of AU$600,000 is up for grabs in New South Wales.

The picturesque Magenta Shores Golf & Country, located just north of Sydney, is ranked as one of the very best courses in Australia and previously hosted the Ford Women’s NSW Open in 2024. The links course was designed by course architect Ross Watson and is set between the ocean, lake and the Wyrrabalong National Park.

This year’s staging of the tournament marks its seventh edition with previous winners including Celine Boutier (2018), Marianne Skarpnord (2019), Meghan MacLaren (2022) and Manon De Roey (2024).

Sadly LPGA star De Roey is not back in Australia to defend her crown, but MacLaren is in town once again alongside last week’s winner Agathe Laisne from France.

Elsewhere, several champions from last season will be teeing up at Magenta Shores including South Africa’s Casandra Alexander – the highest ranked player in the field – Canada’s Anna Huang, Czech Republic’s Sara Kouskova, Wales’ Darcey Harry, plus England’s Cara Gainer and Alice Hewson.

Home stars are also plentiful in Australia with Kirsten Rudgeley, Kelsey Bennett, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Justice Bosio all competing and in pursuit of a maiden LET victory. The full breakdown of entrants can be found here.

Fans around the world will be able to watch the final two rounds of the Australian Women’s Classic via their national broadcaster on the LET website and YouTube channel. Coverage takes place on Saturday 7 March and Sunday 8 March between 12:00 – 17:00 local time (01:00 – 06:00 GMT).

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the LET and WPGA of Australasia head to Adelaide for the Women’s Australian Open. This is followed by the Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast.
