Lindberg leads the race to Colorado in 2013

Sweden’s Pernilla Lindberg leads the standings for The 2013 European Solheim Cup team following the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland at Archerfield Links.

The Qualifying Period for the 2013 event taking place at Colorado Golf Club in Colorado, Denver, USA, from 12-18 August 2013, began with the Lacoste Ladies Open de France in 2011.

Lindberg tied for sixth in France and since then she has earned a career-best tie for second at the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open in China, where she finished behind world number one Yani Tseng; tied for fourth at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters; tied for sixth in India and tied for 7th in Sicily.

So far in 2012, she has tied for 20th in Scotland; been third at the World Ladies Championship in China; tied for 12th in New Zealand; tied for 19th at the Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters.

The next three players in the top four on the ranking at present are Diana Luna, Felicity Johnson and Caroline Hedwall.

LET Solheim Cup points are awarded to the top 10 participants at each Ranking Event and to the top 20 participants at each Major Championship, including the Evian Masters presented by Societe Generale.

The 2013 European Solheim Cup Team will consist of 12 members of the Ladies European Tour comprising the top 4 players on the LET Solheim Cup points ranking at the end of the Qualifying Period, the top 4 LET members appearing on the Rolex Women’s World Rankings and a further 4 LET members selected by the European Solheim Cup Team Captain, Liselotte Neumann.
