Thai duo Chanettee Wannasaen and Arpichaya Yubol are excited to tee it up at this week’s Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open having secured their spots a couple of weeks ago on the LET Access Series (LETAS).
The Trust Golf Links Series on LETAS saw two back-to-back events hosted in England and Scotland with the top two players earning a place in the Women’s Scottish Open, which is being played at Dundonald Links from 28-31 July.
Ramside Hall Golf Club hosted the first event, and it was 18-year-old Chanettee Wannasaen, who finished at the top of the leaderboard.
The talented teenager secured victory with rounds of 71 (-2), 64 (-9) and 73 (E) and it was also her maiden win on European soil.
“It means a lot to win in Europe and I am very happy with my game. I felt really confident today and I knew I could make it,” said the Thai LPGA member. “This win gives me a lot of confidence as I know I can win in Europe and especially in the windy British conditions.”
And the 2022 Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open won’t be the first LET event of the year for Wannasaen, who is also known by the nickname ‘Proud’, as she finished T10 at the Trust Golf Asian Mixed Cup and T8 at the Trust Golf Asian Mixed Stableford Challenge.
Wannasaen will be joined by compatriot Arpichaya Yubol, who finished in second place at Ramside Hall, and followed that up with victory at Musselburgh Golf Club one week later.
Rounds of 71 (-1), 68 (-4), 67 (-5) ensured the 20-year-old clinched a five-shot victory and sealed her place at Dundonald Links.
And similarly, to her fellow Thai winner, Yubol also performed well on the LET back in April with a T10 finish at the Trust Golf Asian Mixed Cup and T23 at the Trust Golf Asian Mixed Challenge.
“I’m really proud of myself because this is my first win in Europe and the golf course was so hard,” she explained.
“I am really looking forward to that week because I will be playing with famous golfers from the LPGA Tour, and they are all superstars. I don’t know how to focus on myself because I’ll be so excited to see all of the great players there!”
