LET Rookies Inspire Next Generation at La Sella Pro-Am

The Ladies European Tour Rookies showed off their skills and talents to local juniors in a Pro-Am on the final day of the Rookie training event at the 5-star Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort and Spa. Organised by the venue’s PGA Professionals, the event brought together talented youngsters, members of the La Sella Golf Club and local sponsors. The young amateurs had won the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am having participated in an event at La Sella the previous week.  The girls and boys were very excited and inspired at having the opportunity to play with an LET Professional. Mara Bañó from La Sella commented: “The Pro-Am was for women and juniors who love golf and follow the LET players from all over the world.  La Sella golf members and Academy pupils had the chance to share a round with those who may go on to become the Solheim Cup players of the future and they will certainly be following their progress later through internet or TV.  This was a special tournament as it was the first event where the Rookies were the Professional stars playing with the amateurs who became their new fans.” “For La Sella, it is very important to support any golf event, but much more so if it is for women who are our best clients making up 55% of our membership.  Do we need any other reason?” The Ladies European Tour players and staff were impressed with how the event was used to provide a unique opportunity not only for their female members, but also for talented young players from the local area.  Mike Round, the LET’s Director or Development and Membership said: “We are grateful to the team at La Sella for the work they did to make the Pro-Am such a success.” The event was won by Lynn Carlsson’s team which finished on 80 points and included two local youngsters.  During the lively post-event gathering, the prizes provided by Natura Bissé were presented to the top five teams. At the end of what had been a very successful day, Lynn said: “This was a great way to finish what has been a wonderful few days at La Sella.”
