After a decade-long hiatus the Ladies European Tour (LET) is back in the Canary Islands this week for the 2025 Tenerife Women’s Open.
The tournament has been absent on the schedule since 2011, but this year sees its long-awaited return as 132 players from 35 nations tee up at Abama Golf on the west side of the island.
A purse of €500,000 is on the line in the ninth event of the season with the 72-hole competition getting underway on Thursday 5 June.
England’s Mimi Rhodes, leading the Order of Merit, headlines the field alongside compatriot Cara Gainer and last year’s player of the year Chiara Tamburlini from Switzerland.
Fresh off her victory at the Jabra Ladies Open, Czech Republic’s Sara Kouskova will also be present in the Canary Islands. The 25-year-old now sits third in the Order of Merit following her maiden win at Evian Resort.

Elsewhere, 17 Spaniards will be taking to the fairways in Tenerife, a group which includes four-time LET winner Nuria Iturrioz, veterans Carmen Alonso and Maria Hernandez, plus Mallorcan Luna Sobron Galmes.
Of the 132 players in the field, there are 31 LET winners teeing it up at Abama Golf who have a combined total of 54 LET victories between them. The full entry list can be found here.
During the 2000s, the Tenerife Women’s Open was one of the most popular stops on the LET’s schedule. Previous winners include Diana Luna, Flic Johnson – now a referee on the LET – Trish Johnson and Becky Brewerton (the match play edition in 2011).
More recently, the LET visited Tenerife in 2012 and 2014 for the Open de España Femenino.
Abama Golf, a picturesque par-72, previously staged the competition in 2006 where Finland’s Riikka Hakkarainen was victorious. Almost all of the holes on the championship course have spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and island of La Gomera. With 22 lakes spread across Abama’s ever-changing terrain, alongside waterfalls and an abundance of bunkers, the course will present a tricky test for the stars of the LET.
All four rounds of the Tenerife Women’s Open will broadcast around the world and on the LET YouTube channel. Further details to follow.
