“I always really enjoy playing in this event because playing professional golf is very individual and we don’t get to play in a team situation very often.”
“I think playing alongside us sets a benchmark for the amateurs and they get to experience the pressure that they will need to deal with if they are selected for the Curtis Cup or the Vagliano Trophy.”
This year will be the final year that Weetabix will support this training match, however, they remain the title sponsor of the Weetabix Women’s British Open, which will take place this year at Royal Birkdale GC from 28-31 July.
LGU team Skipper, Ada O’ Sullivan said of her team: “After a 6-0 thrashing in the morning, the girl’s weren’t going to make the same mistake again in the afternoon.”
“Seven out of the 12 finished on the 18th and three finished on the 17th, which means that ten out of 12 matches finished on the last two holes.”
